I'm slowly working my way through our LA's reading list. (Hoping I've attached photo of the list correctly.)

Are there any other books you would recommend?

Also - I'm usually very much a "knowledge is power" kind of person. But wondering if too much knowledge might stop me having agenuine reaction to issues raised on training days because I've read what the right answer is iykwim?

I was recommended Dan Hughes 'Building the Bonds of Attachment'. So far it has been extremely interesting. I've also read 'the Boy who was raise as a dog' as this was on our reading list. Other than that our reading list looks much like yours. I think the more you can read the better, it wont stop you having a discussion about the topics at the training, if anything it should make the training more beneficial. The two I have read so far have raised questions for me to ask as much as I can see the answers to many of my questions at the moment.

I have read every book you have on your list but by far the best book I have ever ever read is 'Big Steps for Little People'. Absolutely brilliant! Highly recommended.

I can't see the list but do you have Sue Gerhard - why love matters and Margot Sutherland - what every parent needs to know?

Also, look at the children's resources as a guide of a child led explanation route when you finally become a family

Aside from the parenting books, have you read any memoirs by adoptive parents? Different kind of book than a parenting book written by an expert, but I think it can be really helpful to read other people's stories. If you haven't read it, I really recommend "No Matter What" by Sally Donovan, it's the best adoptive parent memoir I've ever read. There was another one recommended on here a while ago, but for the life of me I can't remember the title. Maybe someone else can.

Big Steps for Little People is written by an adoptive parent. It is her family story, with her strategies that work for her family.
