You call yourself my mother?!

So DD was upset with me because I refused to call her friends mum to invite the friend to DD's birthday party. I felt she could do this herself. In the midst of arguing about this she exclaimed in a mock aggrieved tone: "And you call yourself my mother?!" I had to hide my grin. Yes lovely DD, and I've legally been doing so for 8 years this month and I'm so overjoyed that you can make a comment like that and it has absolutely nothing to do with being adopted. Smile

That's funny. Glad your relationship is so good.

I'm actually a bit worried about that Italian. It's Saturday night and supposed to be a sleepover but so far the only two friends who said they're coming will be going home in the evening. I wish people would just RSVP, if we know they're not coming then we can invite someone else. Grrrr.... Poor DD is so looking forward to Saturday (which is her 12th birthday) but is getting very anxious that nobody will be sleeping over.

I empathise and giggle along with you! A couple of months ago, for the very first time in over 4 years, little dude, while trying to argue a point with me, told me that he hated me! Yay!!!! First time he's ever felt safe enough to say something like that! When he calmed down he said sorry, and said he was glad that I would still love him even if he's saying something mean to me. I almost cried with happiness, and when he went to bed I phoned his foster parents and we all gushed together about how amazing he is!!!

Does she watch or read Harry Potter? Lastinglight
I remember one of the Weasley twins saying it to their mother.
Very funny.

Yep, big HP fan, I also think that's where she got it from!

Aww. Love the cake. Don't beat yourself up about yesterday, we all are human.
It's tough this whole adoption lark. The dc just have more ammunition to throw at us.
I hope you get the professional help that you need soon.
