Step-parent adoption

I hope no-one minds me cluttering up the board with the wrong kind of adoption

Can anyone confirm that step-parents adopting step-children now complete form A58 alone (i.e. not jointly with the natural parent) and that the previous silly requirement to adopt your own birth child alongside your spouse/your DCs step-parent is no more?

I'm pretty sure you're right Fideline The former requirement that the birth parent adopts their child has definitely been changed, so it follows that the BP doesn't fill in the form.

But pretty sure isn't a guaruntee that I've answered right, you really need a professional to confirm that. Maybe post on legal or step parents as well for more coverage?
