I am! I've written all our par, s.wrker is writing it up. panel is end of January. Bought furniture fie room. Done our matching form. last day of course next week. I'm so restless now as their is nothing else I can do.
I have plenty to keep me busy. marking, cake making, present wrapping but I'm still so blinking whiney and restless.
I'm annoying myself so don't expect an answer from anyone. just wanted a whine!

I found this bit so drawn out. My kitchen cupboards were scrubbed and my loft was gleaming!!

Sorry no words of advice - I was hopeless. But it's all part of getting to the best bit

:-) thanks both. I just keep thinking "please,this time next year....." I'm nesting too! House is being decorated and tidied like anything!

I remember that, This time next year......
The whole time we were "trying" for a baby, fertility treatment, adoption process etc, so seven years in total, we never had a fairy for the top of our Christmas tree because I always said we would buy one when we had our first baby.
The first Christmas the girls we're home we went and bought a beautiful angel for the top of our tree. I'm looking at her now remembering that first Christmas.
No advice apart from the usual, get everything in order because you will not have time to have a wee in peace when children come home.

You're right moomoomie that's exactly how I feel. I just desperately want this to our last Christmas. I don't know what I'll do if we're in the same situation next year. (I do , I'll keep going like I always do)
Trying to focus on Christmas instead!

Actually the advice to do stuff that you can't do with childrne around (at least initially) is the only good advice I ever got (and took) - I include in that spa treatments, lazing around, going to every film you ever wanted to see but haven't got around to it, lie in until 10am...

can;t think of what else. The last few Xmas's before DS got progressively more difficult for me. When It was suggested that I go home (to the UK) after court and wait for the paperwork I just couldn't face another xmas just like all the others so opted to stay in Kazakhstan visiting DS (in fact as it turned out I had custody of him on 20th Dec).

They don;t celebrate Xmas in Kaz so it was odd with an alien being pretending to be my son, no XMas, no family and yet somehow it still beat the endless feeling of waiting that all the others had been.

Kew.... Have you ever thought of writing a book about your adoption journey? I know it has been asked of you before, but you really ought to think of it.

Just thought back to when I was at the point you are now and started remembering what we did to get through all the waiting.

I kept booking weekends away using cheap easy-jet offers ( in the days when you could still get a flight for £1) It became a bit of an addiction!

In the 10 months before DS arrived we went away for Xmas as I couldn't face another one without children. We went to Dublin for a weekend in the Feb,Tenerife in April, Luxembourg in May , the weekend after our approval panel, Copenhagen in the July ( just after we had been matched) and then Bruges the weekend before intros started!

How I didn't bankrupt us I don't know!

Glad we did the trips though as our wings are now completely clipped now the DCs are school age.

Cleaning out the kitchen cupboards was suggested by my SW but I ignored that bit of advice!

I was thinking of booking us a couple of weekends away. Thought of the weekend after we go to panel too?

inthebegining keep reading, it may help with the matching process and making you aware of what you can and can't do. And enjoy all the stuff you won't be able to do for a while. My friend went to a mega posh restaurant before her first baby was born. Those weekends away will be impossible for a long time so go for it!
