Lac review - how often?

Our ds moved in with us 2 weeks ago today. His sw came to visit during the 1st week now wants to come again on Monday. Just seems a lot to me when we are trying to find our feet as a family. I was not giving a schedule of how often she would visit just wondering if this is normal?

Hi , our dd s sw came once every 4/6 weeks and so did ours ... We had the LAC review every 6-8 weeks as well .

Ours came once a month from what I remember.

So it is a bit much then. The boys played up last time she was here so I'm worried she wasn't happy

SW came out every week for the first 6 weeks and it dropped down to once every 6 weeks, with LAC every 10 weeks.

Our boy has been with us 2 weeks and the visits are weekly, with a formal review one month in.

Oh perhaps I am worrying over nothing then. I just did not think she would come so often

Legally they need to do weekly visits until the first review which should be held within 20 working days of placement day.
At that review they will agree the visiting pattern - usually monthly but may be fortnightly.
These are the stat visits by the child's sw - you're support visits are additional.
The second review should be three months free the first one but some la's will have it at 10 weeks post placement so that adoption orders are discussed as this is the earliest point you can apply.
The third has to be within 6 months of the second review.

we have had weekly visits following placement up until the first LAC stat review which has to be held within a certain time of placement (few weeks I think)

Visits from adoption SW can now reduce to monthly, every 6 weeks from the LO's SW - their stat visit - and another LAC stat review pencilled in for 3 months time assuming the AO hasn't been granted by then...
