Just wondering if anyone had any advice/experience of this.
I spoke locally to another adopter about getting 15 hours for our DS. She already has it due to him being LAC -soon to have AO.

We are in the same boat and guess what? Were turned down!!!
Not wanting this till April but thought I'd look into it....
Thank you xxxx

Hi there , who were you turned down by ? I think that next Sept adopted children will get the 15 hours free however nurseries do not have to abide by this as it's not mandatory unlike the three year old funding . I think I am right but do correct me somebody (:

Who turned you down, the childcare setting?

allthingswillpass · 12/11/2013 16:36

The local authority......!

I then phoned the childrens centre and the manager was furious and is going fight our corner for us Grin

That is outrageous! But yes, the children's centre should sort it out!

I would say definitely try again. I got it for ds but it took a lot of phone calls backwards and forwards. They said no at first. When my ds turned two the adoption order hadn't gone through yet so that might have made a difference, although it had gone through when I applied.
Two of my friends which have adopted didnt get it though, it seems a bit random.

Thank you all.
