Ds has been with us for a year now, he started preschool last week he is nearly 3. 3 morning sessions.
All went well last week he had a strop on the first day 5 mins after i left but was then ok. I have just left him screaming he was clinging to me. I feel awful. He also started wetting him self although that has been a bit better now.
Any tips ?

Just picked him up. Went a bit earlier to get him, he wanted a big cuddle and to go straight home. Bu t i stayed for the last 1/2hour with him. He pooed his pants and got very upset that the playschool had to clean him up!
Seems happy now we are home.
My daughter was like this and she wasn't adopted. I know lots of children are like this, but i just worry what's going on his little head.

Cedar no idea what would help but just wanted to offer a friendly hug.

My DD did wee her pants when I picked her up from being at a friends house. It was (I think) a way of letting me know (something!).

I would recommend lots of hugs and love and talking about the pre-school in positive terms. Maybe ask the pre-school if he can do a picture for you or make something and when you get it make a massive fuss of how lovely it is. Maybe if they have nice pens or felts or paints etc, or junk modelling or clay or something you do not have at home you could say 'wow, that is something different etc something we have not done before and you are learning new skills etc.'

It's really hard isn't it, not knowing if behaviour is particularly adoption related or not?
Continue giving lots of reassurance, it will get better.
