Hey everyone waves nervous newbie here :)

My hubby and I made the decision not long ago that we were going to look into adoption, after spending about 5 and 1/2 years trying for own own and getting constant 'no's and heartache we decided now was the time to take the next step. So we have been doing bits of research here and there over the past month or 2, and have decided that when we come back off our holiday in september we will be making the phone calls and starting whatever paperwork needs to be done for the adoption process

I'm so scared and nervous but I know we can do this together. I have even set up a whole new email and facebook account just so I can speak in privacy with other ladies/families out there, at the moment we have told my parents and a couple of close friends we have just got to break the news to the husbands side of the family about our choice (hoping it all goes well when we get around to it!)

Looking forward to meeting some lovely new people and getting any help and advice we may need or want :)

Feel free to contact me about this whole new process as at the moment I only know bits and pieces about the process and what is involved and my head is spinning a little lol. (Just in case you needed wanted to know I'm from staffordshire in the UK) x

Hi Laura!

We started meeting adoption agencies last week so we are very new too. We hope to choose one of the three this month then start Stage One in September.

It will be great to have someone also going through the process. There are a couple of other people at our stage in the process, see the thread Newbies to find them!

I missed a bit there, I meant it will be great to have someone to talk to who is also going through the process!

Hi I am meeting a social worker tomorrow, from the second agency I have contacted and all being well will start the process off! Very excited but scared too, am doing this on my own after years of thinking very carefully. It is great to find out other people are at the same point as me :)

Italiangreyhound · 13/08/2013 21:54

All best wishes.

Lovely to have you on here laura I'd seriously recommend the newbies group as its nice to have other people to talk to. Where abouts in the country are you (don't worry if you don't want to answer)
We met our social worker yesterday and will probably be starting stage one in October.
