LA/agencies in Southampton area

We are currently thinking through adoption. We're not currently in the UK (away for a year with DH job) and will be in the Southampton area when we return. Does anyone have experience with the LA or agencies in that area? Would appreciate any feedback/advice etc; we want to look into things as soon as we're back but not sure where to start. Thanks

We are only at the initial stages - we have had an assessment to see if we are suitable to go on a preparation group. From this experience, Portsmouth City Council Adoption Services were absolutely lovely. They can't place their children in Portsmouth so are keen to find adopters from outside.
