Intros tomorrow!

allthingswillpass · 07/07/2013 21:21

After just shy of 3 years from application, we meet our little man in the morning!
We have moved to the other end of the country for Intros and in 9 days we take him home as our little one.
Excited? Not sure that's the best description - swinging one way then the other, feel hormonal, just want it to all turn out ok.
How are you sparklebum?

Wow. So happy for you.
Dd1 who is 14 and I where just talking about our first meeting. It is a day I will never forget, so wonderful.
Hope the next few days go smoothly for you and you will soon be one happy family.
Be kind to yourselves, it's going to be a roller coaster of a journey.

Moomoomie · 07/07/2013 21:52

Oh, and dd1 was 2 years old when she came home.

Italiangreyhound · 07/07/2013 21:58

How wonderful, hope it all goes super well.

Middlesexmummy · 07/07/2013 22:14

Good luck x

Devora · 07/07/2013 22:23

Good luck! Just to say: don't worry if your emotions are not what you'd expect tomorrow. When we met our dd, my dp said she instantly knew, "This is the one!" whereas I was oddly numb and tired throughout introductions. (Rather like I was after childbirth, in fact.)

It will be a rollercoaster week. Try to sleep well, and take care of yourself. Best of luck and let us know how it goes Smile

Good luck, we were just aboutabout to start intro this time last year. Can't believe its almost a year!

Moomoomie · 08/07/2013 13:15

Thinking of you today, hope all goes well.

allthingswillpass · 08/07/2013 17:07

Well!
We are back from meeting our little boy!
F A N T A S T I C!
We couldn't have wished for a better start. Perfect weather, Devine foster carers, all low key, relaxed and we just watched & played with LO for 3 hours!
Beginners luck I expect but feeling better than I did this morning!
Roll on tomorrow!

Moomoomie · 08/07/2013 20:30

That sounds wonderful. It really makes a difference if you can build a good relationship with the FC.
Let's hope this is the beginning of wonderful things for you all.

allthingswillpass · 08/07/2013 21:01

Good FC's make so much difference. I hope it goes well for you and enjoy every minute. I remember being so totally and utterly exhausted that week that we could not even speak when we got home after the fifth day. So take any opportunity to relax.

Good luck :)

Lilka · 08/07/2013 21:28

Sounds brilliant, good luck for all the rest new mummy :)

Sparklebum · 08/07/2013 21:48

So glad you had a good day, bet you can't wait for tomorrow now.

Our intros have been pushed back slightly to Wednesday and then we bring her home on Monday.

Have fun tomorrow.

Moomoomie · 13/07/2013 16:09

Continuing to think of you with your intros. Hope you are enjoying the good weather .

allthingswillpass · 14/07/2013 16:43

Hello!
Well, what can I say! We are now nearing the end of day 7 of intros.
We have been matched with the most beautiful, lovely, bright, funny typical 2 yr old little boy and we will take him home on Tuesday - unbelievable!
We are 200 miles away from home which I have to say does have its advantages - no one knows what you're doing and we don't 'bump' into any one we know!
Our intros have been quite different I reckon, we had 4 hours on day 1 and working up to yesterday where we had LO for 12 hours on our own, he had a habdab last night but I really think he was just totally knackered.
We certainly haven't mastered bath time that's for sure!
Can't wait to go home now. Grin

Belatedly, glad to hear intros are going well. Hope the journey back and settling into your home goes well too

Lilka · 14/07/2013 17:46

Great update, glad it's going so well :)

Happiestinwellybobs · 14/07/2013 19:18

Lovely to hear its going so well :)

Middlesexmummy · 14/07/2013 20:36

Hi all willing
Been thinking about you all week and am really pleased its working out well , what happened at bath time ?

allthingswillpass · 14/07/2013 22:23

Hi middle!

3 adults at bath time when he's used to one I reckon!
Tried a new tact tonight and DH did it alone with much greater success even though LO was totally knackered.

Must say, the weather has massively helped!

Glad things are going so well with you. Its moving day for us tomorrow - our little lady is amazing but.I think we've all found the last 5 days a bit overwhelming at times.

Have fun on moving day Smile
