I haven't been on here for a while but you were all so lovely when I was at a low point earlier in the year.

Thought you might like to know that we are matched. She is a gorgeous little 18 month cheeky bundle of fun and we have a pre-intros viewing with her this Friday!

I am one excited, happy chappy!

Meeting birth mum tomorrow which will be hard but I'm really glad that she wanted to meet with us.

I'm so so glad you've got your good news at last. In time you'll see the massive disappointment of earlier in the year as a blip that was necessary for you to be matched with your dd.

Moomoomie, our children share an anniversary! Our dd left her baby home with us one year ago today. We're having our gotcha party this afternoon

Congratulations. I hope the meeting with birth mum went well. I met some of DD's birth family (not her bm though) and I was glad that I did. I think it helped them too, to know something about where DD was going and to be able to ask questions.

Meeting with birth mum was doubtless the hardest thing I have ever done but worth every second. I couldn't shake the feeling that really she just believes we will be "looking after" her daughter for a while until her daughter remembers her (she's 18 months old) and then she will want to go back. But our social worker said that is often how birth parents cope and I just went along with it, as I think if it makes it easier for her, it doesn't really matter to us. I felt very sad for her, but at the same time I think I got a clearer idea of where she is coming from and why she is unable to parent the children.

Still. Onwards and upwards. We are meeting our daughter tomorrow :D

Had to change computers cos dd spilled juice all over my keyboard so I can't post anything from it to say YIPEE! I hope tomorrow goes really well. I'm glad today is over with for you. I can only imagine how difficult it must have been for you.
