A teenage boy in the US talking about adoption and his adoption

It made me smile and howl with laughter in places, and got a bit emotional

Thought I'd share. It's worth the time to listen :)

He talks very much in terms of being a relinquished baby with a big family consisting of birth and adopted relatives and everyone loving each other, so it won't be the experience many of our children have...but he was so funny and genuine and mature it didn't matter. It's nice hearing teenagers (think he's about 18-ish?) especially boys, talk about adoption. And I hunt out adoptees talking about their experiences, especially ones who were in care. I think people should read and hear them as well as other adopters

I agree lilka, it's very amusing and he speaks so well. I'm sure his families must be very proud of him. But it's a very different culture from that in the UK and I'm nt sure it says much about the experince of adoptive families here.
