Can I share my excitement please?

Finally, after nearly 6 months of waiting the letter has arrived with the date of the first court date.

Hopefully, in 1 month our little man will be little man Claifairy and all ours, ours, ours! (Not that we think him any other way but it will offical).

I can't believe it takes so long but he is definitely worth the wait.

Right - time to organise the big party to offically welcome him to the family and celebrate my wonderful little man!

I can't wait to tell everyone at our adoptive mums and tots group this afternoon.

Can't imagine how amazing that must feel what lovely news. A life and a journey begins....

that's so exciting will definitely call for a big party!

Well the excitement didn't last long as when I rang little man's social worker she had to give me the bad news that it wasn't going to happen!

The courts, in their wisdom, have decided that 2 recent attempts of contact with the birth mother is not enough and even though she decided not not turn up at both she needs to be given another chance to have a meeting with social services so her opinions can be heard.

So back to waiting for us!

Sorry not explained enough so the paperwork has be submitted before a certaon date and that is far too soon so having to have the original date cancelled!

God almighty :( What a total shitter!!

Our little man's mother did not consent to his adoption and she was a spending a short holiday with her majesty and had 2 other children in care.
The adoption sailed through. Just hold on in there XX

To be far the sw has tried to arrange meetings with the birth mum, even posted paperwork through her door and rang to confirm she has received all information but birth mum has decided not to attend any meetings and the courts/Judge feels more needs to be done to get her opinion on the adoption.

Personally, I feel that she has made her feelings perfectly clear by not turning up over and over again and not given any further details to her original 'do not consent' but the powers that be want more!

All original paperwork was submitted in time and now they have only given 1 week to get all further required meetings and opinions returned to the courts! There is not a chance in hell the sw can do that and she has done her best to try and arrange more visits for the beginning of next week so let see if she turns up - doubt it though!

We may not have been in the same situation as you. Our Little man was 8 months old was found BM was out of her mind with cocaine (already 2 DC's in care,) her baby virtually dead with pneumococcal meningitis, his mum not seeing him since he went in an ambulance ----she did not visit him in hospital never has seen him since he was 8 months old.He spent 51/2 months in hospital He then went to a Childrens's home where he stayed until he was 51/2 years when we adopted him so please understand why I get so angry. He is deafblind CP epilepsy so again please understand why I feel children must come first not the birth parents. My sons life is devestated. good luck in bucket loads

I'm seeing our sw today - which was booked in before all this - so I can have a good moan and whinge at her!

That's bloody annoying. Next time someone posts about how quickly children get whisked through the system away from loving parents and adopted by force, I hope they find your post and understand what really happens.

Fingers crossed the court process eventually goes smoothly. A brilliant day for us, and it will be for you soon
