hi everyone #

i am a newbie i have been a foster carer for several years now and we have been flirting with the idea of adoption for ages.

well last week we bit the bullet told our supervising sw that we wanted to adopt and tomorrow i go on the information session ekkk

we plan to stay on and provide respite for other foster carers until we get to pannel (here's hoping we get that far)

tell me what will happen next

we already have a form F from our fostering and have been old if we do get assessed it will only take about 6 months

i dont think i will be able to relax until this is all over Grin

and advice or if any one will shre what will happen next for us

Hello and welcome :)

I don't know what will happen for you exactly, I have never done foster care, but I imagine you go through a slightly shortened homestudy since they have some information on you anyway. I think the fostering and adoption assessments are quite different in places given how different the two are

Good luck, sure you'll be fine :)

Good luck on your journey.

Good luck, but afraid I have no useful info either. Have you tried the fostering boards?

calmlychaotic · 09/09/2012 21:25

sorry i dont know much either, 6 months seems quick so like others have said you must go through a shortened version. good luck x

I don't know about this either, sorry :( I second families suggestion of the fostering boards.

Good Luck x x
