My dp and i are near the end of out fostering aplication, but are now thinking adoption may be better for us. So my question ( if anybody knows) is will our aplication form/ things from fostering count towards a adoption application, or will we have to start all over again?

I would speak to your LA as they are all different. However my gut instinct is you would have to start again.
Dh and I had been fostering fot 8 years when we decided we wanted to adopt one of our foster dc. We had to go through the whole adoption process in exactly the same way and new applicant would.

Claire my advice is before you even contact your LA for adoption info be very very sure of what it is you want, I know the LA will want to scrutinise your motives from wanting to foster then suddenly adopt. Obviously your entitled to change your feelings during the fostering process and if you have just come to the conclusion that you want to be a full time mother to a child and all that entails then go for it, but I know for sure they will want to go into it in very full detail.

We were approved for adoption first, and then once the children had grown we were approved for fostering also. We had to go through all the assessment procedure again.
