MEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!
Grin Grin Grin

Shock I don't feel ready. I'm only 46! OK, I know thats not really that young but still Shock

But I'm so so over the moon! I know I want to be called Grandma, not Nanny, and I am the happiest grandma-to-be tonight Grin

DD and SIL invited us all round and I knew something was up straight away. She's about six weeks now. They are already talking names

It's great....you'll love it!

Oh wow how fantastic [grin}

Huge congratulations to you, that is so exciting. And of course you're not ready - how could you be? But 46 is a good age for it because you'll be able to be so active and involved. All the women in my family are grannies by 40, but I broke the mould and will have my younger dd start school when I am 50. I think I have pretty much guaranteed that by the time I'm a grandmother I won't be asked to babysit Grin

Fantastic! Hope your dd is keepimg well

Lilka · 03/10/2011 18:10

Thanks guys :)

The shock still hasn't fully worn off! But I get the fuzzies every time I think about it! DS is excited to be an uncle. I think I'm going to have to avoid the temptation to spoil him/her rotten Grin

L ijaco -how are you all? I often think abobut you and wonder how everything has worked out. How is dgs and ds? What happened in the end with dgs mum?

lijaco · 11/10/2011 16:40

Hi KristinaM- lovely of you to ask about us :)
Everything worked out really well for us my gs doing really well. My son and gs love each other very much. dgs mum is with my son again and they are not doing very well. Still much involvement with drugs etc.

KristinaM · 03/11/2011 20:45

Sorry, just saw your replylijaco. Im so ppleased that DGS is doing well. I know you will be keeping a special eye on his development because of all the drug issues. Sorry to hear that ds is still using, it must be very hard on the whole family. Your youngest must be at school now, is he getting on ok?

Its wonderful that dgs can grwo up withiin his own family, i wish this was an option for all children whose parenst cant properly care for them.
