Hi TL, there is a little debate going on on the adoption thread entitled - Kinship Carer needs help (or something similar) posted by Kristina M and now Mrs DV has entered the debate. I have been trying to explain that legally you are not a Kinship Carer and have been trying to explain the difference between kinship care and someone like yourself as the holder of a RO, but Mrs DV continues to assert her opinion that you are a kinship carer (which of course you are in a way) so I have suggested that you define how you perceive yourself, rather than me and Mrs DV disagreeing about it!

Kristina M also thinks you are a Kinship Carer as she has contacted Legal Services and the advice that she has been given is correct, in that Kinship Carers are relatives who care for a child whose parents are unfit to care for them for whatever reason. She understands that this is your position, despite the fact that I have explained that you hold a RO and cannot therefore be a Kinship Carer.

I just thought you should know that this little debate about your position is going on without your knowledge!!

I have responded under the other thread NN. Thank you for making me aware I needed to provide some input! :)

You don't really need to input. I don't see why making a response to a thread on an open adoption forum is going on without her knowledge Confused.
