Suggested reading for emotional issues around inter-country adoption?

This is a request from a friend, who is looking into her own background rather than planning to adopt now, iyswim. Going back I suppose to a time when any emotional effects on a toddler of swapping country and language would have been totally swept under the carpet. Her (adoptive) parents are both dead, so she has no other way of exploring how things might have been for her at the time.

Can anyone point me towards any likely reading material covering the main issues?

or one of the international adoption sites - I don't know any myself, but I'm sure kewcumber or someone will be along soon.

I suggest the Intercountry ADoption Centre website www.icacentre.org.uk which has a resources page - websites ,books which may be of interest.
They will also know of the organisation based in London which has a group for people who are now adults and were adopted intercountry. Members now in 20s,30s. Anyone else help with my memory lapse??!!
Not sure where your friend was adopted from there may be country groups who could also supply information.

Do a Google search on cross-cultural adoption, there are a number of articles/resources that should give you a good starting point.
