Anyone done the EdD with the OU?

I think it's something I'd like to do and wondered if anyone was able to share their experience of it.
In particular I'm interested in finding out:

• how manageable it is with a young family.
• whether you were able to access any support in putting together your initial research proposal
• whether you held a teaching role at the same time, or how your relationship with school worked.

I have looked at it and there was a thread on here at one point, but I can't find it now.

Unfortunately the consensus seemed to be that it was rather light on rigor compared to a traditional PhD or even other EdD course structures.

Sheffield do a fab EdD, if that's any help.
