Major Family Disagreement... Prisoner Cell Block H

Discussing the "things parents shouldn't have let you watch" thread has triggered a family argument. In the very wonderful and totally realistic Prisoner Cell Block H one of the characters hid in an air vent... this much we agree on. However I believe she was found, sister believes she's still in there? I'm putting it to the mumsnet jury to settle the disagreement.

I'll leave you to debate with these words... "He used to bring me roses, I wish he could again..."

Final thought... Vinegar tits was a great character!

Used to love that programme - about 40 years ago. I have no idea as to the answer to your question but Cell Block H was great

@NannyGythaOgg I remember staying up late watching it. Obviously over invested. DH laughed when I said the soaps of the 80's were so much better. He reminded me that the sets literally wobbled and Bobby Ewing came back from the dead 😂. Still bloody brilliant though.

I bloody loved this. Used to be on at something stupid like 1.50am. Sometimes I'd stay up or I'd video it and then me and my dad had the Sunday Morning Cell Block H club 😀

I remember Driscoll but can't for the life of me remember what happened to her. Wasn't she one of the women that Judy was fixated with?

On a side note I watched about 2 eps of the remake and thought it was shocking so didn't watch it again.

@GNR2022 I am sure I remember her being found... memory is a bit sketch after that.

We've spend a lovely night disagreeing on Prisoner facts... anybody remember why Bea was sent down? Absolutely sure Lizzy poisoned lots of people? What was the name of the nice screw?

Bea was sent down because she killed a dealer that was responsible for her daughter's (Debbie) death. Or I might have made that up...

Oooh I remember one episode where a lady was hallucinating that she was covered in spiders, I was only young (43 now) but I've never forgotten that!!

@Eastereggsboxedupready that's the story my sister believe. Maybe we're talking about two different characters?

I always thought working the ironing press looked so exciting. Used to get a bit too enthusiastic at the idea of playing with the trouser press in hotel rooms 😝

I used to watch it with my mum. We loved it, cardboard sets and all. Unfortunately that's all I remember about it!

They did a remake i think with different actors. It was pretty dire. Original was good. I only remember the horrible warden. And the prisoner Frankie who they killed off. Can't remember how.
