Please help me plan a special birthday day out for a child who is being isolated by a school mum!

My daughter is turning 9 in December and whilst she has 3 good friends at school, she’s fallen out with one of her friends. The girls have long made up but the girls mum has a hate campaign going and my daughter is being isolated.

She would normally have a party but I’m genuinely worried no one would turn up so I want to plan a really special day out for her and her 3 friends in London.

Can you please help me with some really good suggestions?

An actual 'hate campaign' against a 9 year old?

Maybe my wording was a bit strong but it feels that way as her mum. Deliberately excluding her from class parties, getting other mums to exclude her, spreading rumours around the hockey club and messages to teachers telling lies!

Speak to the school about this.

Yes I'd speak to the school too if I were you.

This thread is going to fill up with the backstory when really you could've just started a thread asking for birthday ideas.

But also, you haven't given us any info about your child's interests and likes/dislikes etc.

You’re right, I just wanted to try and encourage people to reply to me with ideas to make it the best birthday ever for her as she really deserves it.

I’m already talking to the school about it all. I’m happy with how they age handling it, but this mum and her friends aren’t going to start inviting her along to things are they or come. Nor would I want her to go!

She’s a thrill seeking dare devil, but also loves anything girlie. She loves a theme park but December isn’t the month for that. Squishy, Needoh obsessed. She loves a full on experience, something a bit different that she won’t have done before. I think she would want something that feels a bit older, without losing the fun of being a child.

I want to be able to surprise her during the day with something special.

I found slick city action park but it’s in Nottingham which is too far but she’d love that!

Junior spa day? Where I live lots of salons do these aimed at the younger kids. Could do nails, facial, foot soak etc at a posh salon. Not just for vanity, but evidently very good for relaxation and fun/girly. Maybe a little afternoon tea afterwards?

Balloon museum in Excel, boat trip, afternoon tea or shopping trip (give each girl £10 note to spend) and a pink girly cafe like Elan?

That looks amazing @MadMAGA

Indoor skydiving is great for kids if there’s one not too far away. We had to drive a couple of hours to our nearest but my DS loved it, you could make the trip fun with music and car games!

This is really girlie! It’s all pink 😍https://tickets.houseofdreamers.com/#faqs

Or this might be a bit more thrilling, but still an experience day https://london.sensas.top

Also, instead of gift bags, get little matching (cheap) cross over bags, with mini hair brushes, hair bands, lipglosses etc. Give it to them at the start of the day, it’ll entertain them during the car ride.

I’ve done days like this, with a few friends for my daughter’s birthdays. She’s definitely enjoyed them more.

Hope she enjoys her day 💓

You would not actually believe how many parents’bully’ other peoples children, or try to. It’s not uncommon and is really nasty. Spreading lies about other children, telling their children not to play with certain children. It’s quite abhorrent but rife. It takes up quite a bit of teachers time.
