Wardrobe solution / covered alternative to clothes rail

I’m looking for a wardrobe solution. Moving into a new house. Currently have no wardrobes and there are none in the house. Until I can arrange something more permanent, can anyone suggest something reasonably cheap yet, durable?

I’ve seen this on Amazon

https://www.amazon.co.uk/SONGMICS-Wardrobe-Organiser-Portable-Cloakroom/dp/B07TS5TS8G/ref=asc_df_B07TS5TS8G?mcid=1ff4996ddf2235c8b4ad50e310d0936c&th=1&hvocijid=10981401366495206785-B07TS5TS8G-&hvexpln=74&tag=googshopuk-21&linkCode=df0&hvadid=696285193871&hvpos=&hvnetw=g&hvrand=10981401366495206785&hvpone=&hvptwo=&hvqmt=&hvdev=c&hvdvcmdl=&hvlocint=&hvlocphy=9046639&hvtargid=pla-2281435177178&gad_source=1

This looked good because everything will be covered and zip closure at the front

Does anyone have any experience of using something like this? Would this be sturdy enough to use for maybe 18 months until I can arrange fitted wardrobes, etc?

I’m looking mostly for hanging space not so much shelving. But some room at the bottom for shoeboxes would also be helpful.

I was looking at something like this because I want everything to be covered otherwise my clothes will get dusty if I just get a heavy duty rail.

If anyone has any experience of this item, please let me know how you found it

Any other suggestions would also be welcome

TIA

I had something similar for about 18 months, and it was fine. I had a separate chest of drawers though, which helped.

I’ve used this, or something like it , but the reality is I couldn’t be asked to pull the canvas cover down

Bit like having an open wardrobe, really but the main thing is the dust doesn’t come in at the top

I would secure it to the wall though if you can. I didn't, and the cat got on it leapt towards me on the bed in the middle of the night and brought the whole thing with him.....

It was fine when I set it back up though. But I got a total shock in the middle of the night.....

😂 sorry, had to laugh. Your cat wasn’t ginger was it? 🤭
Typical nighttime cat behaviour
Yes, that was the only thing that I thought of it could fall over. Hopefully not. Luckily, I don’t have a cat I have done previously and I would like Another but I’ll make a mental note not to get one until I’ve got a proper wardrobe, just in case 😂

Years ago we had the argos wood and canvas equivalent. Actually had them for about 5 years along with some equally cheap slatted shelves. It was absolutely fine.

Yes he is ginger! Having a wardrobe land on me with a howling animal in tow while asleep was an unforgettable experience...he's asleep on the coffee table now, 10 years later....

I think mine did come with a strap you could fix to the wall. I just didn't....

@murasaki ”I think mine did come with a strap you could fix to the wall”

the cat? Probably quite handy with a ginger one.

Jokes aside, yeah I just remembered mine came with one of those as well, but I didn’t bother. I thought it was overkill, but I hadn’t thought of animals tipping them over

Ha, yes sometimes he could do with fixing to the wall!

It hadn't occurred to me either!
