Heat pump tumble dryer in outbuilding

My tumble dryer has just packed in and I really need to buy another one.

Does anyone have a heat pump tumble dryer in the garage? My concern is that if the temperature drops below 0. It doesn't really drop below 0 where I live but obviously it could!

I've nowhere else to store it. If anyone has helpful advice or info on tumble dryers that would be amazing 👏

Heat pump dryers have a minimum operating temperature (because the heat comes from the room they are in). Usually between 5 and 10 Celsius depending on the model. 0C is definitely too cold.

I've got a heated pump tumble dryer. Engineer told me it wouldn't work in a garage or cold room. Just get a condenser dryer?

We’ve got a Blomberg HP in our garage and it’s fine, just takes a bit longer, it goes down to about 2ºC in there in the depths of winter (I have a thermometer in there).

Yes we had one for years. It did take a very long time in cold weather (like a cold snap, not all winter) however the noise didn’t bother us as it was in the garage. If it is going to be below freezing in the garage you have to run it on empty for 10min to get the water out of the condenser.
