Moving out and starting from scratch - what household essentials are worth the money?

I'm finally moving out of my parents' house in the next few months, and I've started buying things for my future home. I was wondering if there was anything that you think are 100% worth the money rather than buying cheaply or brands/products you swear by? I am lucky enough to have some savings to use, and I've found with some things that if you buy cheap you buy twice.

I would really appreciate any recommendations as I feel a bit lost wandering out the shops. Things like cooking knives, pots and pans, appliances, etc. Is there anything you have found to be worth the money?

Thank you!

Most things to be honest, especially kitchen and bedroom things.

Good knives, solid wooden chopping boards, stainless steel pans, decent toaster (eg. dualit) and stovetop kettle (le creuset), scissors (fiskars). Stellar are a good brand. Pyrex for ovenware. Don't buy non stick. Decent carbon steel frying pan, etc etc

Good mattress and high quality bedding. Decent pillows.
