Unexpected compliments

Just wondering if you’ve had a compliment you really didn’t expect to hear, but that gave you a little boost (or made you laugh out loud 😆)

I’m having a really tough time atm. So when I heard this I honestly felt a little lighter!
”Ooh I like your jumper. And your trousers. In fact I like your whole outfit. You’re definitely rocking the Claudia Winkleman Traitors vibe”

It made my day! Though I’d like to say this has been my go to style way before CW showed up in a Scottish castle!! Only I’m more Uniqlo than Brora 😉

I love unexpected compliments but a lot of MNetters are so weird about them, and think it's rude to comment on other's appearance even if it is positive.

I can just imagine reading a thread about how RUDE someone was to say they were "Rocking the Claudia Winkleman Traitors vibe"

And it completely dividing opinion between those who like that look and those who don't 😁

I have had several recently about my hair.
I hated my frizz (curls) and have straightened my hair to death for years.
Got caught in a rainstorm with a new colleague a few months back. She previously was a hairdresser, saw my decapitated curls as it was drying, asked why I never had it curly.
She has taught me a full new routine and I love it. No one ever complemented my straight hair.
Best bit is every time someone comments on them she gets a spring in her step also 😊
