What’s wrong with me am I just lazy

I am autistic just to start. I’m wondering if I’m actually also adhd, I’m wondering this as I’ve always had great intentions but never followed through with anything, or I will for a day or two then stop.
I’ve always struggled to do the mundane things, like cleaning the house, rather than do things everyday I will let it pile up then have a massive energy spurt and deep clean the house in one day.
I put everything off to the last minute, especially forms. There’s been lots of times where I have the time to do something, look at it, and just walk past it. What is that all about? I feel lazy.
Another thing is dinner time, I struggle to put the effort in to make dinner, often resulting in just ordering a takeaway, a few times a week, and it makes me feel so disgusting. I buy all the shopping, think I’ll make this and that, but when it comes to it it just feels like so much effort. Exercise is another thing I have good intentions with, I will start and be motivated a couple of times then just stop.

Am I just lazy or could this be adhd?

How old are you? I’m perimenopause age and I can’t be bothered either.

I have ADHD and am very like that (also post menopausal, so can't be bothered with shit I don't want to do).

I find breaking things into small chunks works best for me. So not cleaning or tidying a whole room but setting myself a small corner to clear or a ten minute timer. I also batch cook when I'm in a 'cooking mood' so there's stuff in the freezer to eat.

Leaning in to the 'being in the zone' and not trying to force it is my best option, although, of course, this might not work for you.

Breaking things down sounds sensible

@peppapiggg I buy our food shop online so I make a meal plan for the week and make sure I get everything I need to make those meals. I also have a menu board on the kitchen wall where I write what we are having every day. That helps me remember what I had planned to cook, and it helps others when deciding on what to have for lunch. I used to just buy the same old things when I shopped in store, and then have no energy for cooking, so this way has really helped with that.

Accusing yourself of being lazy might feel stressful. You might focus instead on making yourself happier. Would it make you a bit happier to hoover that dusty rug or give the kitchen sink a good clean? Then do it now.

It sounds like it is. I’m similar but I’ve learnt different ways of doing things. Break them down. Like if changing the bedding feels like too much, just change the sheet and pillowcase for now, do the duvet another day. Bathroom doesn’t get done in one go, sink and toilet one day, bath and floor another day.
if there’s a pile of stuff to do, do just 5 of them.
Dinners - find easy dinners that are one tray in the oven or one pot on the hob. Look at YouTube recipes. There’s even one pan “lasagne”which we’ve made and it’s good.
Play audiobooks or music when you do chores. Easier with some other “input”

I find it useful to watch 'house tidying and reset' content on YouTube when I need to do housework. Body doubling works well for me, so I will often clean my living room in front of the TV watching someone else cleaning theirs!

I think its autism. I am autistic and do the same especially the cleaning. Some days I can't be bothered but the next day the house will be spotless.
