NC for this as people IRL know this story. I don’t know what to think about the cottage we lived in for 18 months during Covid.

The cottage was supposed to be a 2-3 month stopgap while waiting for our house to sell. There were a lot of very weird things that happened. I kept seeing shadowy things behind me in the living room mirror. The kitchen door (opposite the mirror) kept opening and closing itself. We were once mid conversation about how weird the door thing was when the light bulb above my head blew.

A man we had never seen before knocked on our door at 11pm asking for directions and he had strange clothes, no car in sight and no shoes on (seriously middle of nowhere) and didn’t seem to hear our responses, he just kept telling us he was so lost then, after I closed the door and looked out of the window he was gone into the darkness.

We often heard weird sounds coming from the sealed attic. The water in the upstairs toilet went red once and had worms in it. The house was always freezing cold even in that 2020 summer!

I had a dream that a girl had died there 100 years earlier in horrible circumstances but no clue what actually happened. I am extremely glad we don’t live there anymore. I want to think it’s all nonsense but you just had to be there, it was very creepy while it was happening and there was a malevolent feeling beneath it all.

Mine is not too exciting.
When I was 17 I was staying at my boyfriend’s flat and couldn’t sleep. I was lying awake looking into the darkness, seeing the different shades and shapes of darkness and shadow (street light outside window) when I noticed this heavier, much blacker patch of darkness over the other side of the bed.
I watched as the dark area seemed to get denser and started to look like a human figure. As it got more defined I got scared. The “figure” then bent down over my bf’s face and I shouted in fear. We put a light on and I told him what I saw. He teased me a bit and after a chat we went to sleep.
Only a short while later the phone rang. It was BFs mum saying that his gran had died a couple of hours before.
I don’t believe in ghosts, but BF and his mum believed that his gran had come to say goodbye to him as they were very close!
