For a middle aged couple who don't give each other "stuff" and don't tend toward materialism.

Dinner out with wine/drinks, Cost c. £100 for two. I.e. nice restaurant but not really high end.

Coaching with an eminent personality in your favourite hobby and an opportunity to "perform" in front of an audience afterwards. Cost £12.

Assuming its the recipients fave hobby not the givers 😅

They both sound nice?

After the excitement and possible nerves of present 2, which costs almost nothing (unless that's a typo?), why not take them out for a slightly cheaper meal and drink to celebrate?
Fabulous gift and evening all round!

If cost is an issue, one of you have one glass one wine less with the meal and do both?

sunandpeonies · 29/10/2026 18:58

Do both!

He did one, I did the other.

Yes, the recipient's hobby!

Friends, during a conversation what are you doing for your birthday, have said one was tight and the other was a lazy present.

We were both very happy 🤣
