Not capable of a permanent, long term loving and respectful relationship

Does anyone else feel this way?

I've had 3 LTR in my life. 10+ years each time. At that 10 year point, I start to realise (or realise totally) that I'm done and don't love or respect my partner anymore.

I've done a bit of introspection and although my exes have eventually taken me for granted and not been the person I thought they were, I have also realised that the issue is at least as much me, as them. I honestly think I'm not able to sustain that respectful, long term love for someone.

I also know I have a habit of trying to hang on to a relationship after the point where the ex has damaged it irrevocably which is a flaw.

I'm determined to be single for the rest of my life now. I don't want to waste time or energy on something that won't last.

Probably the wrong person to answer because I was with DH1 for 22 years (widowed) and DH2 for coming up to 15.

I think a lot depends on what the exes did to damage them irrevocably TBH. There are lots of situations where you leaving, even if not quickly, shows a sense of self worth (infidelity, violence etc) There are of course other things that can be worked through if there is the will on both sides but it does need that, an openness to the other persons POV.

Sorry, not much help!
