Best place to buy a cheap reconditioned laptop?

[RelievedNoYouTubeMum]

My 8 year old loves working on my laptop. He writes stories on it, plays with the calculator, searches the internet (under direct supervision) to look things up etc.

His typing has come on amazingly and since he has no ideas for Christmas, I am thinking a cheap reconditioned laptop as I am now basically without when he wants to write a story 🤣

It will only need the very basics so if anyone knows of a reputable place to buy them, (preferably boxed) I would be grateful.

I use a local repair chap who from time to time has lovely laptops he’s repaired & reconditioned.

If anything were to go wrong he’s local so I can get hold of him face to face but in actual fact over the years my laptops have been brilliant & no issues.

He transfers everything across for me & I’ve been very happy with what I’ve bought.

Look on Google … see what comes up.

Both usually have refurbished laptops that come with a warranty. As suggested your local computer repair man may have some. I would avoid the high street shops, selling phones, Ipads etc, the stuff really is sold as seen and I suspect a lot of it has been stolen

I got a great one from CEX and IT husband recommended them. Just get a good rating/condition one

If you have a Cex near you I believe they offer a 5 year warranty on most items.

Backmarket are fab. I've had two laptops and two phones from them and no problems!

CEX. Comes with a decent warranty I believe.

Another vote for BackMarket - I’ve used them for phones, tablets and laptops and they’ve always been good. Also second the idea of a local repair place; if you go now and ask them they might keep an eye out for anything suitable that comes in between now and December.

I would also recommend CEX.
