Hello I’ve never used the app but I have had moles submitted via an nhs service and they then called me in for further testing. They then took really close up photos using gel and a social camera so they could see in much closer detail and decided that I just needed to monitor the moles and no further action unless it changes. Hopefully it’s just an extra precaution due to the edges not being as smooth as they would like.
try not to worry too much as most of these things are benign to be monitored, even if they do turn out to be cancer, are slow growing and easily removed with no further treatment x

I would not trust an app to assess moles. Mole mapping can be useful, but only over time to determine if moles are changing.

I have metastatic melanoma. If you’re worried about a mole, go see the GP and get it checked. I had the GP look at mine and she said it was ‘nothing’. I waited 6 months and it grew. I went back, saw a different GP and she immediately referred me. Even the consultant dermatologist looked at it and said it wasn’t melanoma, but he’d remove it because it was bleeding and getting irritated.

Biopsy came back as melanoma. By that point, stage 3c as had spread to lymph nodes. Get it checked. There is never a reason not to. If they say nothing to worry about, but it changes or gets irritated/bleeds keep going back until they refer you. Be annoying if you have to. I pretty much called and emailed every few days until they got sick of me and hurried up the biopsy. And I was right. There is never harm in getting it looked at.
