Are teens generally still a pain in the arse at 17/18?

DS seems to have had a fresh batch of hormones. He was very stroppy at 13 then mellowed into a lovely lad, no trouble at all. He’s coming up for 18 now and I feel like he’s regressed! Stroppy again, very messy around the house and doesn’t like being told to pick up his shit!

I thought we’d be seeing the light at the end of the hormonal tunnel by now!

My DD is 17 almost 18. She’s suddenly become incredibly sarcastic so everything I say/ ask is ridiculed and met with disdain. I just try to ignore it unless she’s being downright rude.
