Has anyone found any gloves you can keep on while using the touchscreen on your phone that actually work properly? I’ve had a few cheap pairs over they years that have been rubbish but wondered if the technology has improved? Or do I need to learn to use voice control etc instead, going somewhere very cold and will want to take lots of photos and hope to keep gloves on.

I have bought touchscreen gloves from Primark and they work well.

Decathalon sell a number of gloves with touch tip things

Personally I prefer fingerless gloves. Yes there are gloves that work but I like actually being able to touch the screen and my fingertips don't get particularly cold because there's little enough skin exposed.

Thanks, I normally make do with fingerless too but will be in the Arctic circle in December so I think full gloves this time. I will have a look in Primark and Decathlon, we have both fairly nearby

I have bought touchscreen gloves from Primark and they work well.

Came here to say Primark as well, they have them quite cheap in 2 packs and loads of colours.

Go onto Amazon and look at reviews. Buy a pair that plenty of people say work and very few say don’t.

Loads on Amazon

All the touchscreen compatible gloves I've had over the last couple of years have worked fine. They just need to be conductive (of an electrical charge) that's the only thing.

If you're literally going to the arctic circle, I'd get them from a proper outdoor shop so they will be rated down to the right temperature.

Bear in mind your phone itself might not work effectively far below freezing.

I have got skiing gloves but they are no use for taking photos, I would be looking to have both options. It's northern Norway but coastal so likely to be between -3 and -8. I'm planning to keep it on a lanyard inside my coat and have just had the battery replaced which should according to my research be enough to keep it running ok.

Mine are from accessorise, they’re fine. Not very thick though, it’s really cold you’d need ski gloves or but to on back mittens on top

I came to say Primark too! They’re cheap and good

SandrenaIsMyBloodType · 27/10/2026 09:46

Mine are from Sweaty Betty. They are excellent. Not bulky at all.

IbizaToTheNorfolkBroads · 27/10/2026 10:51

Uniqlo too. They just look like ordinary knitted gloves, but they are Heattech, so probably quite warm.

re Amazon I have looked but want to buy in store so I can try on not have to faff about returning them. We have Decathlon, Go Outdoors, Primark, Sweaty Betty, Accessorise nearby, not sure if I'll get to a Uniqlo. It sounds as though things have moved on from the ones I had a few years ago which were fairly useless, thanks all.
