Help me with this cyst

Firstly I have pcos, and have suffered with cystic/nodular acne since my first child was born 14 years ago. I went through a time it was really bad and my face is scarred and I still have lumps on my face from breakouts years ago. My skin has got significantly better though since starting tret 1.5 years ago. I also have rosacea. I’ve used tret and Azelaic acid with no significant breakouts or side effects in that time.

I was put on a new combined cream a couple of months ago tretinoin 0.5%/Azelaic acid 15%/tranexamic acid 5%
Since then the cystic acne has reappeared and it’s really getting me down, huge lumps that don’t come to a head and leave red lumps behind. I’m now getting lumps come up under my nose, and some more around the big one on my neck !!

I’m wondering if it’s the tranexamic acid causing it ? Has anyone had similar with this stuff ? Should I push through or stop using it ? I know it sounds so vain but it’s getting me down having these big lumps on my face, I’m nearly 37 and still dealing with acne 😔 wondering if I should actually go to the gp with this one because of where it is

Youve given it a couple of months with the new prescription so I’d now go back and say your skin is getting worse not better. And yes, get the larger lump looked at too.

I sympathise as whilst I don’t have PCOS, I still experience breakouts and I’m in my 50s. I thought I’d be done and dusted with it all after menopause, but nope.

I would definitely go back to the GP!

I have PCOS and my skin mostly settled down when peri menopause started and I suddenly had regular periods for the first time ever, very odd.

It’s prescribed by dermatica and I’ve just requested a consultation to tell them. I was putting it down to hormones but my skin has been so much better recently, I do have the odd breakout but haven’t had ones like this in a long time. The only thing that’s changed is my prescription so it must be that

The same thing happened to me when I moved to Renew + Me, from Skin + Me. Also sore patches.

I stopped after 2m ish and have now gone back to the original. The sore patches re-bloom though if my skin gets dry or stressed.

What are those treatments that made you break out ? Nightmare wish I never changed it over

Skin+Me is a Tret service, and it was great for me for years. Renew+Me is it’s sister service, for older skin, with added ingredients. I too wish I’d never changed because it very much didn't work for me
