Funny things neighbors do

Because life has been miserable lately I want hear the most funniest thing your neighbors have done, it's just light hearted stuff, I'm bored also. I'll go first.

My neighbor came out of his house with his leaf blower and blew the leaves off his yard in this wind, the funny part is all the leaves blew back onto his yard 😂.

Set alight to his own fence panel by nailing a Catherine wheel to it.

Grabbed a bucket of water, missed the burning panel and got his dad straight in the face! 😂

Used to ask me to clean her canaries out every weekend as she was terrified of them .
And told me earnestly she only had them to match her kitchen .

I can't think of anything about my neighbours that is funny. Mostly a couple of them are just annoying 😆but I shall look forward to other peoples stories!

My neighbour whose house and garden back onto mine, has a hot tub under a gazebo for privacy. On a summer's evening, he likes to sit in his tub with a book and a beer and generally has nowt on. How do I know this? Because the picture window at the back of his house reflects his hot tub quite clearly, like a giant TV screen. I have to avert my eyes, and I really think I should tell him. He's not just visible to me, but to about 4 or 5 other houses.

Not massively funny but we have a 60+ yo man next door to us who sunbathes a lot in their garden. We were replacing our fence from a slightly see through one to a solid one between our back gardens and their grandson was mowing their lawn. He said “I don’t blame you for changing the fence, I wouldn’t want to see grandad in his speedos every time the sun shines either!” He does actually wear speedos.

No, just keep on looking!

Same ndn asked to borrow some pj's.. assumed a washing machine issue...
She handed them back washed and folded
.
And again a few weeks later for those same ones.
She confessed her bf liked her wearing them when they had sex.
I told her to keep them.

My NDN knows I'm vegetarian. She's convinced I'm starving despite me being rather fat! She's mid 90s. She brings me stews and casseroles, beef and chicken and the like.
She's so lovely but knows best apparently!

OrneryWorld · 26/10/2026 17:19

It's more strange than funny but a neighbour in my building strolls down to collect his post or to the laundry room in pjs and dressing gown.

I don't like it when he stops to chat. I know pjs cover his body the same amount as trousers and a shirt would but oh, I wish he wouldn't 😳

malloryknox123 · 26/10/2026 18:09

Vomited in the communal lobby, trod in it and made no attempt to clear it up. The property manager sent a disgusted email to all residents and the perp stayed quiet….but the footprints leading to their apartment were quite damming

MrsMoastyToasty · 26/10/2026 18:15

My childhood neighbour (more than 40 years ago) would put her rubbish in anyone else's rubbish bin except her own which was as pristine as the day it was delivered by the council.

The rubbish always contained more empty red wine bottles than a lady living by herself would be expected to drink in a week.

SweatyGibbon · 26/10/2026 18:18

Bit boring but someone who wasn't quite a neighbour but lived nearby hardly ever cut his grass at the front and it looked so scruffy compared to the gardens either side and opposite.

Lots of weird and wonderful folk in this village. I live in an ex shop in the centre and get to see and hear loads. Especially the supposedly private conversations that go on outside my window.. and a fight once. Not too alarming, because it was mostly posturing, not blows, and those involved were in their sixties, although it sounded like the playground.
There was one man who used to walk home from the pub every night, loudly talking to himself, sometimes having an argument.
Another was seen pushing his car along the road. stark naked.
One man actually did that comedy thing where the hammer he was using got caught up on something overhead, looked around in puzzlement and then it fell on his head. I didn't see it myself, alas, but several others did. (he wasn't badly hurt)

longtompot · 26/10/2026 21:52

One of my neighbours uses a leaf blower in their garden. It's a petrol one and very noisy, and smelly. Hate the thing. They've even used it to blow the water off their grass!
