I saw realitive for the 1st time in about a year. She has seen a few pictures on social media. She said I have lost to much weight. i look to gaunt in face. That my cheeks are hollow and i look ill. But I think it's because she's used to me being fat.

As long as you are happy and healthy, who cares what anyone else thinks. ♥️

CleverlyBeery · 26/10/2026 10:39

What have the social media pictures got to do with it - do you mean they are older photos of what you looked like some time ago?

Pretty rude to say that to you unless you genuinely look like you're about to drop dead...

I mean she's seen a few pictures of he on social media so she hasn't gone from seeing he fat to suddenly thin.

Definitely not dropping dead 😅

Yes it could be.

The vast majority of people I know who have lost a noticeable amount of weight look great.

But two do look very gaunt and hollow cheeked, even though they have more weight to lose.

Rude of her to tell you though.

one If my mums (RIP) friends is like this she has ZERO filter about other people loosing/gaining weight or their clothes/makeup
Me and my sister take it with a pinch of salt

peckishcats · 26/10/2026 11:49

"Gee, thanks" is the only possible answer to that one really. With a Confused expression to go with it.

To be honest i normally do. I wouldn't normally even think about it for a second. So I'm probably just being a twat.

People love the word guant when discussing weight loss I've found. It's so over used its lost all meaning and become just a way to be negative about people who are slimmer than they once were. Because a surprising amount of people don't like it when other people lose weight.

Well,as from a certain age you need to choose between bum and face, only one of them can look good at one time. You obviously chose bum. But your relative has verbal diarrhoea and needs to be told to rein it in.

“Don’t be ridiculous Janet. You’re just used to seeing me totally out of shape. I suppose it must be a surprise to see me physically fit and feeling so well”

I propose this response based on my assumption the cheeky fucker in question is carrying a few extra pounds as is basically jealous and trying to bring you down a peg or two. Well done on your weight loss

I don't know maybe a little self conscious they used to be very slim. But hit menopause and gained. They have made the decision to loose though and recently started weight lose treatment.

Should add her favourite phrase is
“she looks like she’s been dug up” 🤣

CountDracula · 26/10/2026 20:09

Don't worry. People have said similar comments like that about me. E.G.
"You look a bit pasty"
"You're very pale, you should get out in the sun a bit more."
"Try some garlic, it's very good for your health"

FruityFrog · 26/10/2026 20:35

@CountDracula it's like a stake through the heart when people make impolite comments like that isn't it?
