How do stop feeling guilty over things I shouldn't

I have spent most of my life feeling guilty about things I shouldn't and most of its not even logic. When i was a child I was SA'd and I didn't tell anyone because I felt guilty. As a kid I remember my nephew doing something he shouldn't have and I would say it was me so he wouldn't get into trouble. The same with an older sibling I would feel guilty Even though I hadn't done anything wrong and I would feek guilty if wrong was done to me.

This has carried into adulthood. I feel guilty for asking my teenager to tidy her own room. When i ask her she has an awful attitude towards me. It is all the typical teenager huffing and puffing and some attitude.

I really struggle with house work. Everyone contributes to the mess so I feel everyone should help out. When i ask dd to help and I have the awful looks the huffing, puffing the horrible tone. It makes me feel worthless.

I know thats not on dd and its my issue but i just want to be able to say help out without feeling guilty and worthless.

It’s such a hard quality to award yourself - self worth. Could you access talking therapy at all? Perhaps through work?

No. I'm not in work. Therapy is not easy to get and I'm not convinced by it.

Oh that's tough OP. I saw the title and was going to say I'm the same but reading your background I absolutely am not. I feel guilty over little things, privileges I suppose and can be overly empathetic to people not so lucky. What you feel is probably very deep rooted in your early experiences. I hope you get some helpful advice here.

I really only put the back ground to explain its been for most of my life. It was just my way of trying to say its not that I just can't be bothered. Please don't feel guilty over privileges. There will people more privileged than you. And people less privileged. But still privileged. Most of us are privileged in some form or another
