Glucose in 3yo's urine repeatedly, but finger pricks normal? Anyone experienced this?
Hi everyone,
I’m looking for some reassurance or to hear from anyone whose child has had something similar.
My 3-year-old daughter has had glucose show up on her urine dipstick tests repeatedly now. Naturally, we were terrified of diabetes, but the doctor has done finger-prick blood tests and her blood sugar levels are completely normal.
She doesn't seem to have the classic type 1 symptoms (she isn't excessively thirsty, wetting excessively, or losing weight, and her energy levels are fine).
The doctor is looking into it, but I am driving myself mad with worry in the meantime. Has anyone else’s toddler had persistent glucose in their wee without it being diabetes? What did it turn out to be?
Thank you x
