Tell me about your slip in the Matrix moments that turned to be just brain farts?

Today I was sorting out washing. I had thought a pile of laundry of my eldest ds was clean ( hard to tell as he has no concept of folding). He has been at Uni for at least a month now. Dh wasn't so sure it was clean so it went back in to be washed.

I was sorting out his pockets and found a receipt for a purchase in our town for two weeks ago. I was really puzzled. Thinking this is impossible, ds was back at uni then? This has been sitting in a laundry basket for a month now. There is no logical explanation at all. A real slip in the Matrix moment.

Until i checked the other pocket and found a receipt for a town in Manchester where my other son had attended a party. The other son had clearly worn his brothers jeans which in itself is very weird as he never ever wears jeans. I have not seen him in jeans since he was 11. Neither does he wear his brothers clothes.

I do read posts on here about random items turning up in people's houses and thought this was some woo magic. But its just my boys being a bit mingy and rifling through his brothers clothes he has left to fester. Or hopefully the jeans was already washed put in his clean pile by mistake.

I presume you mean glitch in the Matrix.
Unless your slip was a glitch.

We are in a 3 storey house. Things are often placed on the bottom step, if they need to go up to the next level. I went up from the ground floor, with something that needed to reach the top floor. When I got to the middle floor, I put in at the base of the second staircase. I went into the bathroom on the middle level, and when I came out, the item had moved from the bottom step and was in the middle of the landing. Can find no explanation for it.

Why are you checking the receipts in your son’s pockets?! You sound overly invested in the ins and outs of your adult children’s social lives tbh. It wouldn’t occur to me to check the stuff I took out of my kids clothes - in fact I don’t check their pockets, I assume as adults they will remove things before they put them in the laundry basket.
