How would you react? (Being told grin is creepy)

Context: You're in a super really happy mood and you have a big grin on your face when you just happen to see someone you know (not a stranger). They look surprised, don't smile back and say your face is creepy.

Optional to read:
(For my case it was my mum who said that. Usually would say to smile more to me and when I was told that comment I was a bit stunned while confused, still was happy, and simply moved on. Though that was a bit of an awkward disaster to me and that little best happiness I could have in a day 'feeling all positive' was gone.)

Smiling makes the world go around
At least you are smiling!
Zip it Mum!
Why do thry need to burst your bubble!

You should've made a joke of it with something like 'better then looking like you' or 'at least I'm grinning and not sinning' or 'it turned into a grimace when I saw you' or 'are you really my mum'
Then walk out the door in a twirling motion

Has you mum always tried her best to find fault with you at every turn?

Has she recently seen Smile (the horror film which is about people grinning and then bad things happen) by any chance? I’d laugh it off and say ‘don’t watch so much TV, mum’

I’d say ‘gee thanks Mum’ and just carry on. Mothers do seem to have a talent for pointing out all our ‘flaws’ with the excuse of ‘if I don’t tell them who will’. Not that grinning is a flaw course, or that we need telling what any are!
