Opinions on this birthday hamper please!

I've been putting a birthday hamper together for my sister. I'm not sure if it looks okay or not and would love some opinions!

She wasn't meant to be getting it until Tue but she's getting it tomorrow because of her job.

I know it's not massively "birthday" but she really likes the autumnal vibe.

Thank you!

How lovely - I think it looks fine, do u have a big bow or ribbon you could tie round the basket? That might make it look a bit more birthday? 🎁

QuestionableMouse · 24/10/2026 16:38

It's not the colour I ordered but I do have ribbon!

i can’t see what the stuff is 😆

BarryKentPoet · 24/10/2026 16:41

No idea, it's all wrapped up!

Wistfultearia · 24/10/2026 16:42

What's in it?

HappyViewer · 24/10/2026 16:44

Depends what the stuff is that’s wrapped up. Normally hampers have unwrapped products.

QuestionableMouse · 24/10/2026 16:45

Omg there is SO MUCH stuff inside - new slippers, a dressing gown, skin care, various masks for various body parts 😆, chocolate, a travel mug, nice hot chocolate, coffee and tea, biscuits and hair accessories. Also some very nice earrings 😅😅

I mostly want opinion on how it looks 😆😆

It looks lovely! I love the paper! Im sure your sister will love it! Edited as just seen what's in it-i would be really made up if I got a hamper with those bits in xxx

couchpouch · 24/10/2026 16:48

@QuestionableMouse sounds great. It’s looks good, very autumnal. I’m just not used to wrapped hampers.

TheOnlyLivingBoyInNewCross · 24/10/2026 16:50

Oh I love a hamper thread in terms of thinking about what should go in one! - So this is a bit disappointing!

It looks fine - would have been better to have more matching paper, I think, but it’s the thought that counts and she’ll love it.

Now off to find a thread about hamper contents 😁

QuestionableMouse · 24/10/2026 16:53

Better?

It's so frustrating because I'm housebound so have to rely on delivery services to get stuff and it doesn't always work out.

I’ve made a few hampers before and the thing that really finishes it off is a big bit of cellophane either gathered around and tied with ribbon or placed over the top and taped to the bottom. Makes it look really professional and the person is even more thrilled when they realise it’s handmade. I keep the clear cellophane from flower bunches in case I do another hamper 🙈. But I think yours looks great even without that and you can tell you’ve put in a lot of time and effort. I love the paper!

If you have any of the paper left could you make a paper ‘ribbon’? Cut a long thin strip and fold the edges so it looks nice.

Unfortunately I can't have it in my house because I have a cat with pica and he absolutely loves chewing anything plastic!

I don't unfortunately 😭

It looks great and it's very clear you've gone to a lot of effort and got her very generous and thoughtful gifts. I'm sure she'll be delighted! (I usually get my sister an M&S gift card or similar!)

britneyisfreebutnotokay · 24/10/2026 17:40

It’s wonderful. Unwrap some of the stuff so it can be seen - it helps the hamper vibe. Can you get some cellophane to wrap around it?

It looks amazing and you have put a lot of thought into it. She will love it.

Thank you! I'm really excited for her to receive it tomorrow 🥳🥳🥳

@QuestionableMouse this looks amazing
I’d be so excited to see that and open all the little bits! A huge amount of thought has gone into this too and so that’s lovely 🥰

5128gap · 24/10/2026 20:00

Purely on aesthetics, I'd hide the bright pink thing behind the other things as it draws the eye a little too much and interrupts the autumnal look. Though if I were your sister I'd be so thrilled and excited, I'd not notice.

The ribbon is a great addition! ♥️ Pop a card in between the presents.

DilemmaDelilah · 25/10/2026 08:22

Bit late now... but:

I love the idea, but I think some of the presents would look better with some of the excess paper at the top cut off. In my opinion at the moment a few of the things are making the hamper look a bit like a waste paper bin. If you have time, how about just snipping off some of the excess?
