No. Call 111 and get it seen to.

How big is it now
Any redness round the edges ?
And what part of the body .

Burns can damage quite deep in the skin

I think burn blisters can take 24/48 hrs to fully develop.

donttellmewhaticantdo · 23/10/2026 20:04

Did you run it under cool water when it happened? If not, the heat can continue to burn into the deeper layers of skin.

Beenaroundabit · 23/10/2026 20:21

Still no pic op, burns on your body bigger than your palm need A&E, or a 50p coin on your face.

Cool water for min 20 mins (too late for that now)

If it hurts like fuck that's a good sign. No pain means you've done some really bad damage and should be seen.

That’s normal

parietal · 24/10/2026 05:33

normal for it to grow in the first 24 hours. if it is growing a day or two later, then get it seen.

SmolBlackKitten · 24/10/2026 06:43

That"s infected and you should see a doctor.

No it isn't. It's a normal burn blister.

cozycat1 · 24/10/2026 07:05

Looks normal. Thats what happens.Ive had it before. So has my teen son,but he got his big blister burst then decided to to pick at the raw red bit underneath.Looked bad chool said need medical attention as infected come get him, took him to local pharmacy said no its ok and to cover it while out and about and then in evening air it and use sudocrem.Healed fine.

LlamasDramas · 24/10/2026 07:09

Just leave the blister now to protect the skin underneath. Try not to touch it and definitely don't pop it! Once the blister naturally goes down, the skin will have taken time to heal properly.

greengreengrass3 · 24/10/2026 07:13

That’s a perfectly normal burn blister, just leave it alone now.

Portmore · 24/10/2026 07:26

Yes sometimes they take a while to develop - over a couple of days.

If the burn is the size of 3 of your hands or more in total (or 2 if a child) then seek medical advice.

Don't pop the blisters & cover with a non sticky dressing. There is advice on the NHS 111 website you don't need to call up & wait for advice unless it prompts you to.

Perfectly normal. The fluid is naturally straw coloured & is part of the healing process. Don't burst it.

An infection would be increasing redness at the edges, thick green/yellow pus.

Unfortunately I accidentally popped it while getting dressed as I only had plasters that would stick to it no none stick
