All electric fires like this are basically fancy fan heaters. so this is a 1.8kw and will give out the same amount of heat as any other 1..8kw heater. most basic fan heaters are 2kw so a little more. For 3kw you are looking at something more industrial.

I like the look of this one though.

Yes, I'm looking for something that looks like a fire without the upheaval (or pollution) of a real one. I like the style, but suspect that at that price it doesn't look very good irl.

I use this in my study - it’s a small 7’ x 11’ but it’s pretty effective.
