What did you watch on TV as a kid?

[BigJanette]

Well this is weird.
I woke up with the theme tune of The Mysterious Cities of Gold in my head!
I'd forgotten how much we loved that.
Anyone else remember it?
What were your favourite cartoons and TV shows as a child?
Back in those days in the mists of time, we did not have hundreds of channels and dedicated kids streams!

Well you’ve kind of answered your own question. If you grew up in the 80s and 90s we all pretty much watched the same thing didn’t we as we didn’t have a whole lot of choice.

Stand out shows include:

Mighty Mouse
Harold Lloyd
Dramarama
Dogtanian and the three muscahounds
The A Team
Dynasty
Dallas
Moonlighting

In early 80’s Ireland we had..
Bosco
Wanderly Wagon
Forty Coats.
Then we got more channels and we had (and loved!)
Tele-bugs
Trap Door
Raggy Dolls
Fun House
Super Ted
As I got older I loved Home & Away, Neighbours, Byker Grove etc

Whatever was on BBC1 kids TV between 15:30 and 18:00.

And TOTP, young ones and Blackadder.

Grew up without TV. My dad thought it would ‘rot our brains’! 🤣

And Dynasty! I was reading the episode synopsis the other day, it was mental. Remember the Moldavian massacre! All good, hearty family telly.
ITV wasn't approved off though, still don't watch it really.

Dallas
Dynasty
The Colbys (not sure how I was allowed to watch any of these! I had such strict parents)
CHiPs
Bod
Jamie and the Magic Torch
Playschool
Playaway
Rainbow
Animal Kwackers
Reading with Lenny

Glen Michael’s Cartoon Cavalcade
Captain Caveman
Hong Kong Phooey
Scooby Doo
Battle of the Planets
Swap Shop
Untied Shoelaces Show
Crackerjack
Red Hand Gang
Why don’t you
Tony Hart and Rolf Harris’ art programmes
Jim’ll Fix It
Dallas
Dynasty
Bergerac

That's reminded me of Art Attack with
Neil somebody, I loved when they did tbe the Big Art when you could only see the whole picture from the air!
Did anyone ever send in a piece of art for the gallery?
