Single parent and recently collapsed and lost consciousness at home. Suspected POTS. It's just me and dc so I need some type of alarm to detect falls. Anyone with any experience?
TIA

I use an Apple Watch - it's set up to call a relative when I fall as I normally don't need an ambulance . My elderly parent has their phone set up to call emergency services when he falls.

It always calls if you lose consciousness or if you have a hard fall. Every Apple Watch has this technology so you don't need to buy the most expensive type as they all have call alert.

Thank you. I have an apple watch and it didn't catch the collapse. Does yours usually capture your collapses? Thank you @Wonkywalker

Yes - always if it is a hard fall or if I knock myself out. If I just trip and go down slowly then it won't but then I am conscious and can use the watch to call for help if I can't crawl somewhere and haul myself up.

We have found 999 really good for my father as well as his falls normally set his watch off.

Its odd that it didn't work for you if you are losing consciousness . there are proper alerts but they tend to have monthly charges - hope you find something that works for you

Thank you so much for your advice.

i just checked and it was switched on for workouts only so I've switched it on to detect always.

I'm glad it works for you.

Do you normally have to go to hospital or are you OK once you come round?

I don't have POTs - I just fall a lot as I am rather unstable. I avoid A&E wherever possible unless something needs plastering! Hope the watch works for you now
