Present for 8yo that is an actual *toy*

DD has her 8th birthday coming up. We have things on the list like books, arts and crafts materials, an MP3 player. That's the stuff she's asked for but thing is, she still LOVES to play with toys, she has a 2 year old brother and she's constantly using his hot wheels track and Magna tiles, duplo etc. She loves her big Polly pocket set and anything that involves a little world to set up. She loves role play, her doctors set, stuff like that. I really want to get her something fun to play with that's actually a toy and not a structured activity or game. I went to the Entertainer and everything in that category was either aimed at kids much younger than her, or had some shitty blind box element or slime element or related to some faddy franchise. I'm totally uninspired. Does anyone have any recommendations?

Sylvanian families stuff? That was my dream when I was 8.

I loved horse riding and my Barbie/Sindy and horses were a firm favourite. I was still giving them riding lessons and setting up show jumping shows into my teens!

Superspace magnetic tiles have been a huge hit here - basically huge magma tiles so you can build your own den/rocket/pyramid/whatever.

Agree that Sylvanians, Playmobil, and Lego are all great. Also dressing up stuff. We have a Lego train set which gets a lot of use in the building of it, and also for small world play with other toys.

Ah my 8 year old DD is just like this. She loves magnatiles and all our old toys still. Her favourite present from her birthday was a spy kit. She likes gravitrax as a step up construction toy although you would obviously have to be careful with the small parts with your littler one! You can also get a ball run that works with the magnatiles if she might like that? My DD likes Plus plus and Simbrix, kind of construction and art combined. She likes toys that she works out on her own like Kanoodle and Gravity Maze (falling marble game). She likes My Generation dolls which I never thought she would be into but she loves playing camping and sleepovers etc with them.
This is slightly more craft but she loves the Klutz craft kits especially the air dry clay ones like the puppy truck, she makes them and then plays with them as she has personalised them and made up loads of stories about them while creating. So they function as toys in the end. I have seen some more grown up playdoh kits this year which make flowers etc so I might get her one of those for xmas.

Huge marble run
Dressing up stuff
Proper old fashioned dolls' house (you can get endless amazingly detailed tiny furniture etc for them and it could become a collector's item when she's older and outgrown it as a toy)
Model train set (again, if popular can still be a grown-up hobby for when she's older with things to build, mini figures to paint etc)
Magic set
If she likes putting on shows then something like beautiful puppets, shadow puppets, mini magnetic theatre, or a book/set of cards to show how to make shadow puppets with your fingers (my 8-year-old got one like that and it was a big hit)

My DDs all loved the horse and rider sets that you can buy. Big box. Dolls around Barbie size or a bit smaller. A couple of those with different dolls and horses so that she can play 'friends out on their ponies'?

Lego Friends.
The figures (known as Minidolls) are similar in style to Polly Pocket.
Lego Friends is also 100% compatible with "regular" Lego - the only thing different is the Minidolls.
