Google and the Finland Datacentre

I've just seen the news about Google felling a quarter of a million trees without permission in Finland in order to build a datacentre, then effectively saying "oops" and shrugging - increasing I feel that there should be some kind of international body specifically with power to regulate or impose sanctions on international corporations so that they can be met at the same level. As it is, what could be done to prevent Google or others simply doing this again next week?

That’s so sad but while we all sit on our phones and people use ChatGPT for everything under the sun all of it will keep going. They need data centres because of us:(

I thnk Google should be made to replant twice those acres with good quality trees and pay a high fine on top.
