Please help me choose a new mattress

I bought a Hypnos mattress after all the hype following a happy 15 years with a Tempur mattress.

I couldnt afford another tempur so bought the Hypnos which was about £600. What a mistake it’s the most uncomfortable mattress ever.

Id like another memory foam one but again, a tempur is about £1500.

What other memory foam is good? I’ve seen Ergoflex, Simba, Nectar, I’ve no idea what to go for! Good and bad reviews for them all.

So, anyone with a wonderful memory foam mattress- what do you have?

Go to a department store or bed shop and test them?

Simba. We love ours and it is still great after 6 years.

I tried out a Harrison Spinks mattress in a shop. It was fantastic.

I have an older Ergoflex. Super comfortable. The new ones are a bit cooler.
Only buy when they have a sale on.

We have a mattress that we bought from Winstons Beds. They are based in Manchester and are luxury hand made mattresses. Also look at John Ryan by Design. They also manufacture luxury mattresses in the UK but there website has loads of information regarding mattresses.

I tried a hypos in a fancy hotel and it was awful because the buttons studded all over the top dug into my ribs. Very odd because I'm not even thin! No advice on a memory foam mattress but I'll link another recent thread which is 4 pages long:
