A question for anyone that has had a 24 hours blood pressure monitor on….

I felt quite blind sighted last week when I went into the GP’s for a lingering viral cold/bug and came out after being told that both my BP and pulse we’re worryingly high and I needed a bit on an MOT including a 24 hours BP and ECG monitor.

Queue to today and I have been back to get my BP monitor on and have quite interesting watching the readings every 15 minutes.

I wondered if anyone could answer the question though, the machine beeps and the. figure and pump increases and tightens to an amount, it stop inflating and then works its way back down, occasionally beeping on a 2nd number but it never gives me a 2nd number reading (I believe the diastolic number)

Just want to make sure it’s working properly as was showing an error code in the surgery when the doc first fitted it and I seems a long time to leave something so uncomfortable on if it’s not even working! 😅

I wore one for 24 hours a few years back..it was an inconvenience. I booked a day's leave. It was supposed to have the readings loaded on to the GP system. The nurse apparently not familiar with the computer system, lost them. Never bothered again. We have a BP monitor at home we can use if needed.
