Round the world dinners

Every couple of weeks my friend comes round for dinner. I don’t live in the uk but I am British so I started cooking food my mum used to cook - a roast, pies, Cornish pasties, toad in the hole. Then we had a phase of antipasto - this lasted for several weeks. I’ve since had a French evening - whole baked
Camembert with bread, steak au poirve and a green salad and choc mousse and an Indonesian meal - soup, pork sate. This week we are going to Scotland. I’ve ordered a haggis - very hard to get here- with neeps and tatties- and cranachan for dessert. I’m looking for suggestions going forward.

Sounds lovely, I would go for Mexican food, followed by Chinese, Thai or Japanese. Moroccan would also be lovely. And then there’s Lebanese…

I’m hungry now.

Sounds like a lovely idea.

how about...
Chinese - plenty of options, Japanese - sushi or ramen, German/Austrian- wurst or schnitzel, giant pretzels and strudel. Spanish - paella, France - steak frites, carribean style food

Am now getting hungry!

I did this when I first started dating my DP, I would make us a lavish themed banquet every Weds after work! My most exotic one was Sudanese. I also did Chinese, Italian, Southern US, Spanish, Mexican, Japanese, Malaysian.

Greek/Cypriot food always goes down well here.

During lockdown we started randomly choosing a country from a list of all countries in the world and then trying to cook their national dish. I discovered some interesting food from places that I'm never likely to go to.
